Wikipedia is the largest wiki on the Internet. It was launched on the web on 15 January, 2001. By 2 May, 2009 there were 2,864,302 articles in English and millions more in over 260 languages. There are currently more that 75, 000 contributors to Wikipedia. Anyone who wishes to add something to an article only has to click on the edit button and add their content. Wikipedia is one member of a larger wiki family known as Wikimedia.
